Best COD: MW SMGs For Warzone X BOCW
What's up everybody? Hope you all are doing just fine. Today we will be discussing the best COD: MW SMGs in COD: Warzone. Let's just jump straight to it.
Heckler & Koch Maschinenpistole 5 (H&K MP5)
Yes. For starters we will discuss about everyone's favourite SMG of all time: The MP5. Originally comes with 9mm Parabellum ammunition, the MP5 can be customised with 10mm Auto rounds. This weapon can be unlocked at level 12 and can be upgraded all the way up to level 57. The MP5 is most used by players to take down enemies swiftly and efficiently. Moderate fire rate allows players to adjust to the MP5's absurd recoil. The reason why I said the recoil is absurd is because it moves around in an upwards swerving pattern, making its recoil the most unpredictable and the most difficult to master. I wouldn't highly recommend this weapon to be used for mid range gunfights which is why I came up with this setup:
Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
Underbarrel: Merc Foregrip
Ammunition: 45 Round Mags
Stock: FTAC Collapsible
Perk: Sleight of Hand
This setup is useful for when situations get dicey and you want to get a fast exit out of it. The weapon still delivers an amazing amount of damage despite it still being in its 9mm Parabellum configuration. There is basically no use for a barrel mod since the only thing it does is reduce its range and everything. Which is why the monolithic suppressor is the best option for almost every SMG.
Heckler & Koch Maschinenpistole 7 (H&K MP7)
Next up, we have another "everyone's favourite" weapon: The MP7. Loaded with 4.6×30mm (WikiPedia: MP7), this weapon is very deadly when in hands of an aggressive player. Unlocked at level 54 and can be upgraded up to the same level to which it was unlocked, the MP7 is purposefully built for CQC (Close-Quarter Combat) situations. The MP7 has a very fast ADS speed and fire rate allowing players to kill enemies quickly. The only drawback to the MP7 is its very high recoil. Luckily, the MP7's recoil pattern is much more predictable and easier to master than the MP5's recoil. The recoil pattern is just the typical right-upwards recoil pattern so it's easy to master. This weapon works best with the MP5's setup. In fact 4 of the SMGs that are discussed in this topic have identical setups. This setup is derived from an MP7 setup I've found on the web and has been proven to be exceptionally effective when it comes to CQC situations.
Underbarrel: Merc Foregrip
Ammunition: 60 Round Mags
Stock: No Stock
Perk: Sleight of Hand
This setup is proven to be very effective at close ranges thanks to the high mobility provided by removing the stock and a little addition to the range thanks to the monolithic suppressor. There are more things to do with the range, accuracy, and control by adding a barrel mod like FSS Recon or FSS SWAT, but this means sacrificing mobility (in this case: ADS speed) for damage range, bullet velocity, and recoil control. The sleight of hand perk really helps when you are being surrounded by, for example, a whole squad or if you are rushing a full squad. The sleight of hand perk effectively decreases the reload speed by a fraction of a second, which allows you to easily jump back in to the battle every time you have run out of ammo. Just remember to use an extended mag as this will be most useful when a flock of enemies rush at you.
Steyr AUG
Now, time for the "AR-SMG" that everyone was talking about: The AUG. The weapon is immediately unlocked as your starter weapon along with the Kilo 141, the PKM, the Dragunov, the Model 680, and other starter weapons. Often used as an AR (Assault Rifle) as this weapon can be converted from a 9mm Parabellum to a 5.56 NATO ammunition. In its initial ammo, the AUG is most effective at close ranges as the damage falls off after a few metres. In its 5.56 NATO conversion however, the AUG's damage is extended over mid ranges all the way up to long ranges.
Anyways, as this weapon is slightly heavier than the other SMGs, the setup i've come up with will be different to those of the other SMGs.
Barrel: 407mm Lightweight
Laser: Tac Laser
Ammunition: 5.56 NATO 30-Round Mags
Rear Grip: Stippled Grip Tape
Perk: Sleight of Hand
This setup is useful for both close range and mid range combat situations. See that I didn't use a long barrel or the 60 round drum mag as this adds the ADS speed making it slower and ineffective to use for close ranges. Note: Do not engage in long range combats with this setup unless you really have to. Just because this weapon has been converted into an AR doesn't mean that it's efficient for long range combats. This setup still lacks some extra recoil control attachment which means the gun will be a little bit slippery on the recoil so evade long range combats if you can.
Fennec
Okay, I have to admit. This is not really "The Best SMG" there is. But this gun has the fastest fire rate of all SMGs in the COD: Modern Warfare section. Of course, with a high fire rate, it comes with a very high recoil. This gun can be unlocked at tier 15 of the season 4 battle pass and can be upgraded up to a maximum level of 54. If you didn't unlock this weapon during season 4, you can unlock this weapon by getting 5 kills while using an SMG with the Solozero Optics Mini Reflex and Ranger Foregrip in 10 different matches. Having the fastest fire rate in its class, the Fennec's 25 round mag is just a major let-down and just to make things worse, the reload speed is the slowest in its class. Which is why this weapon is not much of a use in Battle Royale, or Resurgence, or Plunder, or basically any game modes that include a huge map if you haven't grind it to its maximum potential.
Anyways here's the setup that I love to use for the Fennec:
Muzzle: ZLR Sabre
Rear Grip: Stippled Grip Tape
Ammunition: 45 Round Mags
Stock: No Stock
Perk: Sleight of Hand
Even though the Fennec has an integral suppressor for the barrel attachment, I actually prefer the ZLR Sabre. Mainly because it gives almost the same benefits as the ZLR 18" Deadfall, minus the increased bullet velocity. This setup is actually more useful if you don't hip fire the gun as this doesn't have the Merc Foregrip, an attachment that improves hip fire accuracy. Overall, this weapon is very good for psychological warfare. What I mean by this is that the fire rate in this gun is enough to cause panic and chaos in the minds of enemies. And there's more to that: The recoil in this setup is just enough to lead the aim itself to the enemy's head, henceforth why I love this setup.
ISO
Now, I know what you're thinking : "What are you doing? This thing is basically a nerfed MP5!" And yes, you're right. The reason why the ISO is in this list is because of its exceptionally low recoil. This 9mm Parabellum powered weapon is, if you prefer it, a nerfed version of the MP5 due to its low head damage multiplier and an identical torso, abdomen, and limb damage to those of the MP5's. Nevertheless, this weapon is still useful for long range as its recoil is easy to predict and even easier to master. This weapon can be unlocked at tier 15 of the season 5 battle pass and can be upgraded up to level 55. For those who haven't unlocked it, no worries, this weapon can be unlocked by getting 5 kills with an SMG with a holo optic in 7 different matches. The setup I love to use is similar to the one I use for the MP7 and the MP5 just with a little twist:
Barrel: FSS Nightshade
Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip
Ammunition: 50 Round Drum
Stock: ISO Collapsible
Perk: Sleight of Hand
This is basically the best setup I can find for the ISO as this makes the least recoil and balances the range and mobility of the weapon itself. I recommend you to keep a distance when you use this weapon as this weapon doesn't really deal a lot of damage when it comes to close range combats. Overall, the ISO is an ideal close-mid quarter combat weapon.
I guess that's all for today's post. I will see you on the next post where we'll be discussing the best shotguns for COD: Warzone x COD: BOCW. Ciao!
