Best COD: MW Assault Rifle For Warzone x BOCW
What's up everybody? Hope you all are doing just fine. A quick backstory: In December 16th 2020, Activision has dropped a new season for Call of Duty: Warzone. Integrating Infinity Ward's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare battle royale video game with Treyarch's latest video game: Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Since then, new meta weapons have been found by players. Leaving the original COD: Warzone meta weapons forgotten. Today I will be discussing my favourite ARs in COD: Warzone and without further ado, let's jump straight to it.
The Kilo 141's half-brother, the M13, is basically a lighter and more accurate version of the Kilo. This AR can be unlocked at level 15 and you can grind it all the way to level 69. The recoil pattern here is a little bit harder to control, as it goes up and goes straight right, opposite to the Kilo which goes up and gradually goes left while maintaining its upwards recoil movement.
The recoil in this weapon is, well, i'd say decent for a 7.62 Soviet weapon. The recoil goes straight upwards so it's very easy to predict and master. Most of the time, you will see people use a CR-56 with the Zodiac S440 barrel, 45 Round Mags and a VLK 3.0x Optic. This kind of setup may be useful for most combats, but this will decrease your ADS speed. Nevertheless, this is the two setups I love to use for the CR-56 AMAX:
Kilo 141

The Kilo 141 is one of the few favorite ARs for COD: Warzone players up to this date. Chambered with 5.56 NATO rounds, the Kilo dominates the battlefield with its minimal recoil. The recoil pattern here is easy to control, making it a very good weapon for mid-long range battlefields. This AR is immediately unlocked as a starter weapon along with some other weapons and this AR can be upgraded up to level 69. The Kilo is so versatile that it basically has attachments for almost every situations. You want a silent AR with increased bullet velocity? This weapon comes with a Tempus Cyclone integral suppressor. You want to turn this weapon into, somehow, a lighter LMG? This weapon provides you with a 100 Round Drum Mag attachment. Most people will usually use a mid-long range setup for the Kilo as this is most useful around the battlefield.
This is my favourite setup for the Kilo 141:
Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip
Laser: Tac Laser
Ammunition: 60 Round Mags
Optic: VLK 3.0x Optic
This setup is most of the time useful for taking down enemies over mid ranges. The Commando Foregrip gives you recoil stabilisation and aiming stability. Tac Laser increases your ADS speed, aiming stability, and aim walking movement speed. VLK 3.0x Optic allows you to acquire targets over long distances. Overall, if you are those kind of people who just loves to go scouting around buildings or open fields, this setup is just the perfect setup for you.
M13
Much like the Kilo, the M13 is provided with an integral suppressor barrel that increases bullet velocity as well as concealing your location. Another stealthy attachment that makes this weapon distinct to other ARs is the .300 Blackout 30 Round Mags. These bad boys increases your damage range, conceals your hiding spot by eliminating the tracer effect on every bullet you fire, and hiding the enemy skull icon each time you kill an enemy. As much as these attachments can do to improve your stealthiness, they are not very effective to use for Warzone. Remembering the M13 has an insanely rapid fire rate and the .300 Blackout rounds only have 30 bullets in each magazine, you might not want to use this attachment for Warzone.
I, personally, love to customise this weapon's setup like the Kilo's setup. Just minus the suppressor:
Underbarrel; Commando Foregrip
Ammunition: 60 Round Mags
Optic: VLK 3.0x Optic
Rear Grip: Stippled Grip Tape
This setup, in fact is what makes me love the M13. With this setup, it has minimum recoil. Meaning that you can get enemies over long distances "slightly" easier. Why "slightly" you may ask? This thing has one of the lowest damage dealing AR in the entire line-up of ARs in the gunsmith. Overall, if you really want to play safe with this weapon, I suggest scouting enemies near mid range.
M4A1
An alternative to the Kilo and the M13, the M4A1 is also chambered in 5.56 NATO. Just like the M13 and Kilo 141, the M4A1 is very versatile and comes with a very rapid fire rate. This Rifle can be unlocked at level 6 and can be upgraded up to level 71. The recoil pattern
This weapon also comes with an integral suppressor barrel called the FSS 12.4" Predator. The ammunition attachments for this weapon is what makes this AR stand out between the 3 similar ARs. If you want to turn this weapon into an SMG, this gun has an 9mm Parabellum 32-Round Mags. This attachment decreases your damage and range, but it's worth it if you really want to play close quarters. There is also a bigger caliber ammo option called the .458 SOCOM 10 Round Mags. Like the name itself said, the .458 SOCOM only comes with 10 bullets so you might want to pick your shots carefully. Depending on your play style, these attachments might not come in handy as they are not as efficient as the normal 5.56 NATO rounds the M4A1 comes with.
Most of the time, the M4 is either used as the long range AR or the mid range AR with the iron sight or the G.I. Mini Reflex Sight. Regardless, this is what I like to use for my M4:
Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip
Ammunition: 60 Round Mags
Rear Grip: Stippled Grip Tape
Optic: VLK 3.0x Optic
This setup delivers a low recoil thanks to the Commando Foregrip and Stock M16 Grenadier. This setup is good for when you need to engage enemies from a mid to long range. Just note that the M4 gives lesser damage than the Kilo 141. Overall, this setup is not too bad as it does quite decent damage over ranges and it doesn't really compromise the ADS speed (for a weapon with the VLK3.0x Optic on).
CR-56 AMAX
Man is this a very good weapon. The CR-56 AMAX is chambered in 7.62 Soviet, resulting in a very good damage output and a decent recoil control. This weapon can be unlocked at Tier 31 of the Season 4 battle pass and can be upgraded to level 68. If you haven't unlocked this weapon yet, you can unlock it by completing a challenge the gunsmith. The challenge is: "Get 3 Gunbutt kills with an Assault Rifle in 10 different matches." Ever wonder what a gunbutt is? Check out this video:
The recoil in this weapon is, well, i'd say decent for a 7.62 Soviet weapon. The recoil goes straight upwards so it's very easy to predict and master. Most of the time, you will see people use a CR-56 with the Zodiac S440 barrel, 45 Round Mags and a VLK 3.0x Optic. This kind of setup may be useful for most combats, but this will decrease your ADS speed. Nevertheless, this is the two setups I love to use for the CR-56 AMAX:
The Mobile Setup:
Barrel: XRK Zodiac S440
Underbarrel: Ranger Foregrip
Rear Grip: XRK CR-56 Stippled Wrap
Stock: No Stock
Perk: Sleight of Hand
This setup can come in handy for when you need to get control of the battlefield in quickly. The Zodiac barrel and the Ranger foregrip can increase your recoil control with a little cost of ADS. That is why the No Stock option and the stippled wrap is useful as it increases the ADS speed, balancing the heaviness of the front side of the weapon itself. Overall, if you are those type of people who have a close-mid range play style, this is the perfect setup for you.
The VLK 3.0x Optic Setup:
Barrel: XRK Zodiac S440
Underbarrel: Ranger Foregrip
Rear Grip: XRK CR-56 Stippled Wrap
Optic: VLK 3.0x Optic
Stock: CR-56 EXO
Now this is the setup that I love the most. This setup is a long range version of the Aggressive setup. Only difference is, this setup uses a VLK 3.0x optic as a replacement to the Sleight of Hand perk and a skeleton stock replacing the No Stock option for better recoil control. This setup has minimal ADS speed and control addition, but at the very least, it's balanced between mobility and control (in a way, it's not biased.). Overall, this setup can come in handy when you want to take down enemies from a mid range or, those people who just happen to parachute from, e.g. buildings, hills or mountains, or those people who just respawned from the gulag.
AN-94
The AN-94 is AR chambered in 5.45x39mm that comes with a unique hyperburst feature. Unlike any other ARs, this weapon only comes with a two-round burst option and a full-auto option. The two-round burst is surprisingly very effective for hitting enemies over long ranges. The full-auto for this gun, I have to admit, is the most impressive of all ARs as the recoil for this gun is predictable as it only goes diagonally to the right. This weapon can be unlocked at tier 31 of the season 5 battle pass. If you haven't unlocked this weapon yet, don't worry. You can unlock this weapon by getting 2 hip fire kills with an assault rifle in 7 different matches. Once you unlock this gun, you can upgrade this weapon to level 68. A unique attachment to this weapon is the AN-94 Sonic Brake. This attachment increases your recoil stabilisation meaning you will have lesser problem dealing with the sideways recoil.
Anyways, this is my setup for the AN-94:
Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor or An-94 Sonic Brake (whichever you prefer)
Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip
Ammunition: 60 Round Casket Mags
Optic: VLK 3.0x Optic
Rear Grip: Stippled Grip Tape
This setup has, at least, minimum sideways recoil and extra ammo for when you really need to bust down some enemies easily. This gun in particular, however, has a low damage and does not do very well over ranges. In other words, it's an M13. Overall, this setup performs very well and handles itself very well for the recoil.
Well, I guess that's all for today's post. I will see you on the next post where we'll be discussing the best marksman rifles and sniper rifles for COD: Warzone x COD: BOCW. Ciao!
